About Pothos

Founder

Hi There!

My name is Krystina (she/her) and I'm the founder of Pothos Counselling and Consultation Services.

I'm happy to Welcome you to this page in the hopes that Pothos may be of service to you along your healing journey! I'm a Social Worker, registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I graduated with my Bachelors in Social Work in 2008, and obtained my Masters Degree in Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2009.

Over the last 15 years, I have supported a diversity of people who have experienced challenges navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and those who have survived abusive and traumatic experiences.

After spending many years supporting people with evidence-based treatment for various struggles (i.e. specific phobias, panic and agoraphobia, PTSD, social anxiety, health anxiety) I have become passionate about providing strong, evidence based treatment for those living with concerns related to Obsessions and Compulsions. Finding effective treatment can feel like a daunting task, and it takes bravery to advocate for yourself. There is no shame in struggling with OCD and intrusive thoughts, and overcoming OCD is possible. I have pursued specific training and consultation in Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP), and provide this effective approach to people seeking support for OCD specifically.

Having worked in both community-based and clinical settings, notably in Tkaronto/Toronto and Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, providing both clinical therapy support as well as integrated harm reduction services to individuals 18+, I am dedicated to supporting people who feel overwhelmed, alone or uncertain within their mental health and wellness. Pothos is dedicated to utilising trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and de-colonising approaches to care in all of its modalities (Cognitive Processing Therapy, EX/RP, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy).

Whether you are seeking support specifically for OCD concerns, or looking for help with other anxiety-related or trauma-related struggles, please know that I am committed to providing thoughtful, collaborative services rooted in compassion, humility and respect. My primary aim is to help you challenge the inner critic while reinforcing your own resiliency in the face of personal and societal adversity.
